I promise you that with this one, you’re really going to feel like you are conducting a scientific experiment. And you are, so why not? It uses the power of the reef knot in a more novel way (see the other technique on reef knots to learn how to do one). You simply take two copper wires of relatively short length, about 8” or so, tie them together with a reef knot in the centre (see diagram below), and attach them to the body of the alligator clips (via the holes at the end).

Sounds “Newtonian” so far, doesn’t it? Copper wire… alligator clips… electrical signal must conduct through the wire and… Okay, never mind all that! Here’s the fun part. Clip either alligator clip to the blades of a plug of an unused machine, such as a washing machine, dryer, vacuum cleaner etc.
